Sun City Anthem Sewing and Quilting Club Rules of the Sewing Room

  1. The Sewing Room is to be locked when not in use.
    1. The key to the Sewing Room may be obtained in exchange for a SCA
      membership card at the Member Services Desk by an SCA Sewing & Quilting Club
      member who has been trained in the proper use of the machines. A list of
      current SCAS&QC members authorized to use the machines will be posted in the
      Sewing Room and updated monthly.
    2. The key holder is responsible for locking the room when they leave.
    3. If another SCA Sewing & Quilting Club member wants to use the room, the
      key holder must exchange the key at the Member Services Desk for the SCA
      card and the other SCAS&QC member must exchange their SCA card for the key.
    4. The key holder assumes the responsibility for monitoring the room usage
      to current SCAS&QC members.
    5. All members using the room must sign in and out in the guest book
      provided.
  2. No one shall be able to obtain the key to the sewing room or use the
    machines unless they have been trained in their proper use.
  3. The room is considered closed when a scheduled activity is in session. The
    machines are to be used by those members enrolled in the class or activity
    only. All persons using the machines must be trained.
  4. DO NOT change the bottom bobbin tension on any machine.
  5. Everyone uses their own needles and bobbins when using the machines.
  6. Bobbins and needles are available for purchase from the club officers.
  7. After each use of the machine, clean the machine and the bobbin case area.
    Pick up the table and floor around your work area and return machine settings
    to normal.
  8. Each drawer has numbered supplies to match the machine number. Please keep
    these supplies in the correct drawers. (DO NOT TAKE THEM HOME.)
  9. Equipment and supplies belong to the club. These shall not be used for
    personal use, unless approved by an officer. Some cupboards are locked for
    safekeeping and require a special key from an officer.
  10. New members need to be trained on the use of the machines and how the
    sewing room operates, such as duties and checking out videos, etc.
  11.  Dues are $20.00 per year and $10.00 after July 1.
  12. “Scheduled” room use is to be used solely by members to work on Charity
    Projects, Craft Fair Projects, Workshop, Classes and Monitored Work Time.
  13. All monies will be paid to the treasurer by check and made payable to SCA
    Sewing and Quilting Club.
  14. VCR tapes may be checked in and out.
  15. A list of current club members who are authorized on the use of machines
    will be posted in the room. A list will be at the Member Services Desk also.
    The lists will be updated monthly.
  16. In order to keep your name on the current members list, you must keep your
    dues paid.
  17. Children under 18 will not be allowed in the sewing room. An 18 year old
    must be accompanied by a SCA Resident and member of the club.
